Installs
Where the charger goes
Three situations cover most of the homes we see. Each page says what we ask, what we check and which package it is.
A charger on a garage wall, a post in the driveway or a detached garage. Houses with an attached garage are usually the garage wall package.
A shared meter, an HOA letter or a reserved space changes who has to say yes first. We list what we ask for.
The load check can say there is no room. It can also say there is, with a smaller circuit or a load limit.
Before you pick an install
A plug-in outlet or a hardwired charger?
Both are in every package. A 50-amp outlet lets you take the charger with you or swap it later. Hardwiring suits a charger that stays put, or one that needs a bigger breaker. The comparison on the home page has the details.
Which charger should I buy?
One your car's maker or the utility's list supports, and one whose amp rating matches the breaker in your package. Bring us the model before you order it, and we check it against the circuit. We install chargers you buy, and can order one for you at our cost.
Do you only install for one brand of car?
No. Any plug-in car that charges at home on a 240-volt circuit works with these packages. The charger you choose decides the connector, and the circuit is the same.
I rent. Can I get a charger?
With your landlord's written approval, yes. Send us the landlord's name and the photo of the panel, and we write the quote in a form you can hand to them.
Not sure which one is yours?
Text a photo of the garage and the panel. We tell you which package it looks like before the survey.
